We welcome all girls aged 11-18 (plus 5th grade girls starting in March each year).

Our scouts live in Chatham, Basking Ridge, Berkeley Heights, New Providence, Livingston, Madison, Mountainside, North Plainfield, Summit and other nearby towns.

Troop 280 uses Scoutbook to track merit badges, calendar events, rank advancement, payments, volunteer hours and everything else - we strongly encourage all scouts and parents to use Scoutbook. If you have questions or need help, let any of the leaders know and we'll help!

Completing the Annual Health and Medical Record is the first step in making sure you have a great Scouting experience. For any scouting event, even just a regular troop meeting, we must have a completed Part A and Part B record, signed within the last 12 months. Download the form here.

For events longer than 72 hours, including summer camp and high adventures, Part C is also required and there are often additional requirements. 

We are part of the Fishawack District of Patriots' Path Council. PPC provides training, events, adventure opportunities and governance. 

Patriots' Path Council proudly serves more than 12,500 youth members and more than 5,000 volunteer leaders in the New Jersey counties of Middlesex, Morris, Somerset, Sussex, and Union.

We follow the Scouts BSA program of the BSA. Scouts BSA is the traditional Scouting experience where boys and girls can have their share of adventure in the great outdoors. Develop a love of service by volunteering in your community, boost your leadership skills through fun and exciting challenges, and create memories of a lifetime with no prior Scouting experience required!

• Scoutbook - You can also pay in Scoutbook using PayPal (including the option to pay by credit / debit card) but a small fee will be added to cover payment processing.

• Venmo - We also accept Venmo to @Chatham280 (but note the troop does incur fees on Venmo).

We aim to keep the cost of scouting affordable but we also want to ensure that financial concerns never prevent a scout from participating in the Troop or any of our adventures. We have scholarship funds available - please reach out to our Committee Chair who will keep all enquiries confidential.
